The Beginning
The journey began with a vision. Late Shri Ajit Kumar Ghosh took the first initiative towards establishing a manufacturing enterprise that would eventually become a trusted name in steel furniture.
Building the Foundation
A state-of-the-art steel furniture manufacturing facility was established in Dum Dum, laying the foundation for Raja’s long-term presence in the Indian steel furniture industry.
Advanced Paint Technology
Raja introduced a state-of-the-art oven-baked paint system supported by a nationally approved heat-chamber facility, strengthening its focus on finish, durability, and manufacturing quality.
International Paint Technology
Raja implemented a paint formulation collaboration with the British company “Sigma Garave”, bringing advanced paint technology to steel furniture manufacturing in Eastern India.
A New Standard of Quality
Raja’s collaboration with SAIL and Tata Steel marked an important chapter in its manufacturing journey, reinforcing its focus on quality materials and high manufacturing standards. This period marked the beginning of Raja’s emergence as a leading name in steel almirah manufacturing.
Entering the Premium Segment
Raja expanded into premium office and domestic furniture, earning the trust of major national corporations and the Government of West Bengal through institutional contracts.

Raja’s domestic almirah range reached more than 50,000 families through its growing dealer and distribution network, reflecting increasing customer confidence in the durability of Raja Steel Almirahs.
The Raja Presidential Series
The Raja Presidential brand of Storwels was launched, including the PCA 15A and PCA 15C, adding a premium product line to Raja’s portfolio.
Expanding Manufacturing Capacity
Raja established its second steel manufacturing plant at GPR, Kolkata, strengthening its production capabilities and supporting its expanding distribution network.
Pioneering Powder Coating
Raja became one of the first steel furniture manufacturers in Eastern India to adopt powder-coating technology, introducing a more advanced approach to steel furniture finishing.
ISO 9001 Certification
Raja’s steel furniture business obtained ISO 9001 certification, reinforcing its commitment to structured quality management and consistent manufacturing processes.
